Season end is always met with mixed emotions in our family… we mourn the end of snow, celebrate the great days we shared skiing, and plan mountain biking adventures to fill the void. No photo better captures these emotions than Jake and Nate below. Closing day at Alta and our last(?) pow day of the season was worth both celebrating and mourning. What better way to start off the summer than to go hike on the majestic peaks of Park City. Rob’s trail is 4.2 miles roundtrip with features such as shade, gradual climb, aspen groves, and great views. This trail also connects to Mid Mountain, Ambush, and the Olympic Trail, this makes it easy for you to choose the length of your hike. Difficulty is moderate. Grab a friend and get outside this month!

Grand Teton is known for its astounding mountain scenery and wildlife. Not to mention that their park boundaries are approximately 310,000 which equates to 485 miles. WOAH! This park is truly a hiker’s paradise. You can find trails for all levels of hikers all while taking in the unbelievable views. The BEST time to visit the park is between late July and August when the trails are dry and enjoyable. Exploring this vast wilderness located in Wyoming is a must to add to your bucket list.
The Grand Tetons are just a short road trip away from Park City, with total driving time being 4 hours and 35 minutes. Not only do you pass through Utah and Wyoming but during the drive, you are on the border of Idaho. If you drive a few hours further you will soon reach Yellowstone National Park. This is a great road trip to check multiple national parks off your list at once.
This hike is MUST if you are coming through the Grand Teton National Park. 13.7 mile out-and-back trail may be strenuous but is so worth the reward. At the top is Lake Solitude where you can take a quick dip and cool off in or rest and have some lunch nearby. Tons of wildlife and beauty from beginning to end.
